THE SCIENCE
Alex Lynn
Alex the Astronaut
Alex is an Australian singer song writer, known as Alex the Astronaut as well as a physicist. Alex’s thesis combined her passions: sound and science. Her research looked into sonorluminescence, which is the process of transforming sound into light.
THE ART
Hugh Inglis
Huseph
Lover of all things dinosaurs Hugh jumped at the opportunity to work with a scientist to create a Shirty Science shirt. He and Alex threw around a number of ideas finally settling on a visual representation of sonorluminescence. The design links to Alex’s work as a muscian as at first glance the image resembles a recording studio, but is instead an experiment transferring sound into light.
